Beautiful San
Dimas
There are
some lovely golden hills in this Southern California
town.
One day I took a walk to study
subject matter for a new painting. I decided to feature a tree
in brilliant red autumn foliage. A sign by the path warned that
there was a mountain lion in the area. I didn't see one, but
you might imagine a pair of golden eyes peeking from behind a
nearby bush.

Painting
Tip
Learn to make
clean mixtures when you mix paint.
If you are
working with acrylics and need an opaque color,
mix one opaque color with one or two
transparent colors. Opaque means you can't see
through a layer of paint. Transparent means
that you can see through it.
Try not to mix
more than three colors in a mixture. More than
that and your newly mixed color tends to get
muddy. Opaque and transparent colors are
labeled on the better brands of acrylic
paint.

Several years ago I
heard Thomas Kinkade speak at the Pasadena Convention Center in
Southern California. He told about his early struggles trying to
succeed.
Thomas was so inspirational. He
encouraged people to build strong families and he publically
gave special recognition to the couples who had been married
the longest. He also spoke about the inspiration for his work
-- the Creator Himself!

show us ways
to lead a simpler, richer, more satisfying
life."

Ps 65:12 They drop upon the pastures of the
wilderness: and the little hills rejoice on every
side.
Why leap ye, ye high hills? this is the
hill which God desireth to dwell in; yea, the LORD will dwell
in it for ever. Ps 68:16
The mountains shall bring peace to the
people, and the little hills, by righteousness.
Ps 72:3
The hills were covered with the shadow of it,
and the boughs thereof were like the goodly cedars.
Ps 80:10
The hills melted like wax at the presence of
the LORD, at the presence of the Lord of the whole
earth. Ps 97:5
Let the floods clap their hands: let the
hills be joyful together. Ps
98:8 The high hills are a refuge for
the wild goats; and the rocks for the conies. Ps
104:18
He looketh on the earth, and it trembleth: he
toucheth the hills, and they smoke. Ps
104:32
The mountains skipped like rams, and the
little hills like lambs. Ps
114:4
Ye mountains, that ye skipped like rams; and
ye little hills, like lambs? Ps
114:6
I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from
whence cometh my help. Ps
121:1
