Country Road

Country Road

36" x 60" Acrylic on Canvas                             Sold

What lies beyond the next bend in the road? I often see my paintings as visual parables. Life is a journey to an unseen destination.

Painting is a language. It's poetry of color and design. I try to paint when I'm feeling energetic instead of exhausted because I can't convey feelings I myself am not feeling.

While seeking to say something in a painting more than simply copying nature, I intensify colors and create an abstract underlying design.

"Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore."

Psalms 16:11

Make me to go in the pathof thy commandments; for therein do I delight. Ps 119:35

"I found I could say things with color and shapes that I couldn't say any other way - things I had no words for."

Painting Tip

Use the largest brush you can when applying paint. Many brushes have sharp corners which can be used for details.

Move back from your painting often while painting so that you can view it from a distance of at least ten feet.

A painting is not meant to be viewed with your nose up to it. You can only tell what it really looks like from a distance.
